”– you know, I’ve either had a family, a job,
something has always been in the
but now
I’ve sold my house, I’ve found this
place, a large studio, you should see the space and
the light.
for the first time in my life I’m going to have
a place and the time to

no baby, if you’re going to create
you’re going to create whether you work
16 hours a day in a coal mine
you’re going to create in a small room with 3 children
while you’re on
you’re going to create with part of your mind and your body blown
you’re going to create blind
you’re going to create with a cat crawling up your
back while
the whole city trembles in earthquake, bombardment,
flood and fire.

baby, air and light and time and space
have nothing to do with it
and don’t create anything
except maybe a longer life to find
new excuses

National Poetry Month Day 21: Missed Connections

Love in the Headlines*

“Oh, Jelly baby“– a stand-out m4w salute

“To boss: I like your cookies” – direct and astute

He missed you “Running In Forest Park”

She posted “Hot Swift Bartender” on a lark

“Be Still Your Words till I am Done”

A poetic lament for a very special one

“What’s the hold up?” a headline screams

The poster unclear about wooing it seems

A post for all “Cuties at LA Fitness”

No specific connection there to witness

“Dirty Dancing” – life imitates art?

“Lengthy eye contact” – a promising start

“Love is all about timing” the wise men say

Missed connections hope there is another way

NaPoWriMo Day 3: A Part of You Will Never Die

holding-hands1Poem #3 (Chōka*): April 3rd, 2013 – For Craig, in memory of Lily

Missed calls, ships at night

Hear your voice in the static

Memory mind games

Or Telephone Hide and Seek

Area code trade

An ethereal exchange

Yet our connection remains
